Governance

The TRAC Society (The Regional Automation Consortium Society) is a not-for-profit corporation formed by Marigold Library System, Northern Lights Library System, Peace Library System, and Yellowhead Regional Library.

Governed by the TRAC society, TRAC finances and provides technical support for a shared library management software (Polaris). Library management software allows libraries to maintain patron accounts, share library collections, generate reports, manage inventory, and allows patrons to borrow library collections by logging into their library account. Patrons located in the TRAC region can access over 3.3 Million physical items in over 180+ public libraries across northern and central Alberta!

TRAC also collaborates to purchase and deliver eBook, eAudiobook, and eMagazine collections, and other subscription electronic resources.

In addition to the shared library catalogue, TRAC supports member library staff by providing training and shared procedures to facilitate patron access to one of the largest consortia library collections in Canada.
